Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is not only an educational institution that generates and disseminates knowledge, but also a university committed to contributing to nature and society. In this context, it plays a significant role in fostering a sustainable future through its activities and research. The educational and research endeavors, environmentally focused practices, and community service activities carried out at our university are maintained with a keen awareness of our responsibility to leave a livable world for future generations. These initiatives and events are executed within the framework of strategies designed to guide our campuses, our city, our country, and the world toward a sustainable future.
While fulfilling its mission of education, research, and community service, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is guided by the framework of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, our university has adopted a holistic approach that supports environmental, social, and economic development. Within this scope, our university aims:
To raise sustainability awareness in education: By integrating the sustainability approach into all academic disciplines, raising students' awareness regarding environmental challenges, social justice, and economic sustainability;
To create sustainable campuses: By rendering our campuses more sustainable through practices such as energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and the expansion of green spaces;
To prioritize sustainability in research projects: By supporting research focused on sustainable energy resources, clean water, and climate change, thereby pioneering the role of scientific knowledge in steering sustainable development;
To enhance community engagement: By contributing to regional development through collaborations with local communities and the development of social responsibility projects.
